good Cricket Betting — T20 to Test, BPL to World Cup
Bangladesh cricket fans can bet on all major tournaments and formats. Match winner, toss, live betting — all in one place, in Bengali.
Cricket Formats and Tournaments — What to Expect
Cricket is played in three main formats — T20, ODI, and Test. Each format has its own pace and characteristics, and because of that the betting markets also differ from one another.
T20 is the fastest format. Each team has only 20 overs, so the result can turn around in just a few balls. In Bangladesh, the BPL is the biggest stage for this format — every season, Bangladesh Tigers fans follow it with great enthusiasm. At the international level, the T20 World Cup is the most talked-about competition.
ODI, or One Day International, sees both teams play 50 overs each. Strategy and patience matter more here than in T20. The ICC World Cup and various bilateral series are played in the ODI format.
Test cricket is the longest and most traditional form of the game — it can last up to five days. Because a draw is possible in this format, the betting market has three outcome options, which sets it apart from T20 or ODI.
On the tournament side — IPL, as India's T20 league, attracts wide interest across the subcontinent. BPL is our own league, featuring both local and international stars. In addition, ICC-organised international tournaments run throughout the year.
Betting on Football and Other Sports
At good you can bet on football and several other sports, not just cricket. However, the markets and approach differ depending on the sport.
Football generally has three outcomes — team A wins, team B wins, or a draw. In cricket T20 or ODI there is no draw (a tie or Super Over is possible instead), so only two-outcome markets are available there. This directly affects how odds are set.
Live betting in cricket is especially interesting because odds change after every over and wicket. In football, similar shifts happen when a goal is scored or a card is shown. Individual sports like tennis or badminton, on the other hand, offer set-by-set markets.
Sports vs cricket — differences at a glance
- Cricket T20/ODI — only 2 outcomes
- Football — 3 outcomes (including draw)
- Odds change when a wicket falls in cricket
- Markets stay open for 5 days in Test cricket
- Live betting is available in all formats
The Most Popular Betting Markets — How Each One Works
Several types of markets are available for cricket at good. Below, seven familiar markets are explained in plain language.
Match Winner
You bet on which of the two teams will win. For example — team A vs team B; if the team you pick wins, your bet is successful.
Simplest betToss Winner
You bet on which team will win the toss before the match. In cricket, the toss can be important depending on the pitch and conditions.
Short-term betTop Batsman
You bet on which batter will score the most runs in a specific innings. Knowing the team's batting lineup makes this market easier to follow.
Performance betTotal Runs Over/Under
The bookmaker sets a runs line (for example, 160). You bet on whether the total runs will be over or under that line.
Runs betMulti Bet
A multi bet is created by combining several matches or markets into one bet. If all selections are correct, the odds multiply and potential winnings are much higher, but if even one selection is wrong the entire bet is lost. See the good Multi Bet guide for more details.
Multiple betsHandicap Betting
To level the competition between two uneven teams, the weaker team is given a notional run advantage. The outcome is decided after adding that advantage.
Strategic marketBetting Exchange
On an exchange you bet against other players, not against the bookmaker. There are two roles — BACK (betting in favour of an outcome) and LAY (betting against an outcome). This is explained in more detail in the odds section below.
Reading and Understanding Odds — Three Formats
Odds on a betting site may be shown in three different formats. All three give the same information; only the way they are written differs.
Example 1 — the same odds shown three ways (team A to win, stake ৳200):
Decimal: 3.00 = Fractional: 2/1 = American: +200
If the bet wins you get back ৳600 (৳400 profit + ৳200 original stake). If it loses, ৳200 is gone.
Example 2 — favourite's odds (team B to win):
Decimal: 1.50 = Fractional: 1/2 = American: -200
American minus odds show how much you need to stake to make ৳100 profit. On a ৳200 stake you get back ৳300 (৳100 profit).
Decimal odds are the easiest to calculate — total return = stake × decimal odds. Most sites in Bangladesh use decimal or fractional format.
Betting Exchange Example
On team A at decimal 1.80:
BACK: ৳500 stake — if team A wins, ৳400 profit (before commission); if they lose, ৳500 is gone.
LAY (for a backer's stake of ৳500): Liability ৳400 (৳500 × 0.80); if team A does not win, ৳500 profit; if they win, ৳400 must be paid out.
A brief comparison of the three formats
| Format | Example | Explanation |
|---|---|---|
| Decimal | 3.00 | Total return = stake × odds |
| Fractional | 2/1 | ৳2 profit for every ৳1 staked |
| American | +200 / -200 | + means profit on 100; − means how much is needed to win 100 |
Live In-Play Betting — Odds Shift When a Wicket Falls
Live in-play betting is one of the most exciting aspects of cricket. You can bet even after the match has started — and odds are recalculated after every ball.
As an example — if team A is scoring quickly in the powerplay, their chances of winning increase, so their odds shorten and team B's odds lengthen. When a big wicket falls, this balance shifts immediately.
Some common live markets available while the match is in progress:
- Runs in the next over (over/under)
- Whether a wicket will fall off the next ball
- Projected total runs in the current innings
- How many runs will be scored in the last 5 overs
- Current probability of winning the match
In live betting, decisions have to be made fast — odds can change within seconds. So always view betting as entertainment and it is best not to go beyond your set budget.
Cricket Multi Bet — Several Matches in One Bet
In a multi bet you pick the outcomes of several matches together. If all selections are correct, the odds multiply, so potential winnings can be much higher. However, if even one selection is wrong the entire bet loses — so the risk is higher.
Example: if you bet on three matches at decimal odds of 1.60, 1.80 and 1.90 respectively, the combined odds are 1.60 × 1.80 × 1.90 = 5.47 (approximately). That means a ৳100 stake returns ৳547 if all three are correct — but if even one is wrong, the full ৳100 is lost.

Key points about multi bet
- Odds multiply together
- One wrong pick and the whole bet is lost
- You can combine cricket and football in a multi bet
Practical Tips for Cricket Betting
Betting is for entertainment — remember that no strategy guarantees a win. However, a few simple habits can help keep your betting more disciplined.
- Set a budget: Decide in advance how much money you will put into betting. Never go beyond that limit.
- Understand the format: Betting markets differ across T20, ODI and Test. Bet on the format you follow most closely.
- Do not place too many bets at once: Focusing on one or two bets is often simpler than a multi bet.
- No rushing in live betting: In-play odds change fast. It is better not to make snap decisions driven by emotion.
- Responsible betting: If you feel betting is getting out of control, read good's responsible gambling guidelines.
- Compare odds: Look at the odds across different markets and understand which ones make sense for you to bet on.
